Over the years, Harry Allen has adopted the theme of clusters in a variety of different forms. Clusters of wooden blocks, clusters of tin cans, and for Gaia & Gino, clusters of crystal blocks. "I like the way that the individual element transforms when it is grouped and that the end result is not completely designed." Much of the form is dictated by the original unit that is being clustered. The block vase, for example, is a random grouping of blocks, imperfect and humble, yet very precious, like a natural crystal. It is quite beautiful with or without a flower.
